Superior Care Auto Center
Below is a select list of services that we offer. If you don't see a service listed, please give us a call at (718) 768-0622 and ask, as there are many other things not listed here that we can handle!
Oil Changes
To ensure that your vehicle's engine works efficiently, it is important to change your vehicle's oil and oil filter regularly. Depending on your vehicle, and the type of oil it requires, we recommend having this service done every 3,000-5,000 miles or every 6 months, whichever comes first. Please keep in mind that if you primarily drive your car in NYC (stop-and-go driving, prolonged idling, frequently taking trips >10 miles, driving in very hot or humid weather, driving short trips in very cold weather and/or on salt-spread roads), you should be following the severe service schedule for your vehicle, which can be found in your owner’s manual.
Preventive Maintenance
Staying on top of your regularly scheduled services can help avoid breakdowns and costly repairs down the road. Our technicians are trained to regularly check over our customer's cars to keep an eye on things that may need to be repaired in the near future. We use a 30-point vehicle checklist to help keep track of the condition of tires, hoses, belts, filters, fluids, struts and shocks, brake lines and more.
A/C and Heating
The air conditioning and heating system in your vehicle can break down over time. Our technicians are equipped to find and repair the problems in your vehicle's air conditioning and heating system within OEM specifications to ensure that you stay comfortable, no matter what the temperature is outside. We are able to service cars that use 134A or 1234YF freon.
Body and Trim
Our shop is equipped to do minor body and trim repairs, such as replacing mirrors or radar sensors that have been knocked off or stolen. Call the shop for more details.
Brake Repairs
Brakes are one of the most critical components of your vehicle that keeps you safe on the road. If you suspect any signs that your vehicle's brakes are not working properly, set up an appointment as soon as possible so our technicians can repair any problems and keep you and your vehicle out of harm’s way.
Diagnostics and Electrical Repairs
Our technicians specialize in hard-to-diagnose problems and electrical repairs, and are trained in the latest automotive technology and how to repair it. Other independent repair facilities have turned to us when they're unable to diagnose or repair electrical problems!
Hybrids and EVs
We are very familiar with and comfortable working on both hybrids and EVs. Please note that if you own a Tesla, we are very limited in what services we can do, as Tesla has restrictions on who they sell equipment to, and therefore who can properly service their cars.
Interior Water Leaks/Damage
Cars have drains, similar to how a house has rain gutters, and these drains can also get clogged with leaves and other debris. They need to be periodically cleaned out, in order to help prevent interior water leaks. What most customers don’t realize is that under the floor rug is foam padding, which can act like a sponge and soak up water, and in some cars, electrical components are located underneath the rugs/padding. In order to prevent electrical issues, mold growth or smells, if the interior of your car is wet, the interior may need to be removed in order to fully dry.
Rodent Damage
From finding live rats and raccoons in engines, to chewed up wire harnesses, dashboards packed with nesting material, rotting food garbage, bones, and rat poop, we’ve seen it all! We can clean out your engine bay of rodent debris, help remove the smell of rodent urine, and we offer ultrasonic rodent repeller devices, to help prevent future infestations.
Timing Belt Replacements
The timing belt is a key part of your vehicle's engine. Depending on the type of engine that you have, if your timing belt breaks, your car will immediately shut off without any warning (if you have a non-interference engine), AND serious engine damage may occur (if you have an interference engine). Either way, you won't be able to operate your car until it is fixed, which may require an engine rebuild.
Vandalism, Theft and Recovery Repairs
We are (unfortunately) familiar with dealing with customer’s insurance companies after vehicles have been vandalized, or catalytic converters or radar sensors have been stolen, and can help to make the often-frustrating process as easy as possible! When your insurance company tells you that you can start a claim on your own, without even having it checked by an experienced mechanic, they’re doing so because it benefits the insurance company – not you! Let us help you navigate the sometimes frustrating and time-consuming process, and get them to cover what you actually need replaced or repaired.
Tires
Along with brakes, tires are also incredibly important to keeping your car driving safely. Since you use your tires every time you drive your car, It's essential that they are inspected regularly and are fixed or replaced if any wear and tear or problems are found. Our technicians can replace your tires and keep you safely driving on the road. We are a Continental/General tire dealer, and keep many different sizes in stock!
Wheel Alignments
Yes! We do four-wheel alignments. If you notice a gradual pull, steering problem, or any other problems in your wheels when driving, this might be a sign that your wheels need to be aligned. Our technicians can properly adjust your suspension and align your vehicle's tires, which can help you avoid the need for tire replacements or suspension repairs in the future.
New York State Inspections
We are a certified NYS inspection station. By bringing your car to us, you can ensure that your vehicle is inspected properly within NYS requirements and passes the NYS inspection. We do not pass cars that do not meet NYS requirements. The fee for a NYS inspection is $37 for most cars, unless your car is brand new or more than 26 years old, then it's a $10 inspection fee.
